Support

Quick answers to common questions. Can't find yours? Email hello@vilia.app — a real person reads every message.

Getting started

How do I invite my partner, family, or friends?

Open the Support tab → My Village → add members by email, or share your village invite code. They enter the code when they sign up.

What roles are available?

Mom, Dad, Partner, Grandparent, Extended Family, Friend, and Support Person (doula, nanny, etc.). Each role sees guidance written for them.

Do supporters need their own account?

Yes — each person signs in with their own Apple, Google, or email account and joins the village with the invite code.

Village & Wishes

What's the difference between a Wish and a Buzz?

A Wish is part of your daily check-in — things you'd appreciate help with, visible to the village on the Wishes board. A Buzz is an urgent, right-now request that notifies available members immediately.

How do I leave or switch villages?

Settings → your village → Leave. You can then join another village with a new invite code. Your private check-in history stays with your account.

Someone accepted my Buzz but can't help anymore. Now what?

They can tap "I can't help anymore" to release it, and the Buzz reopens for everyone else. As the sender, you can also tap "Disregard this Buzz" to close it for the whole village.

Account & data

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password" and we'll email you a 6-digit reset code.

How do I delete my account and data?

Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account, check-ins, and village membership. Village data shared with others (completed wishes, Buzz history) may remain for their records.

Who can see my check-ins?

Your mood and journal notes stay private to you. Only the wishes you choose to share appear on the village Wishes board. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Notifications

I'm not getting Buzz notifications.

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Vilia (Allow Notifications, Banners, Sounds), and make sure Buzz availability isn't paused in the app (Support tab → your name). Also make sure you're signed in — notifications are delivered per account.

Safety

Is Vilia medical advice?

No. Vilia offers supportive, informational content only. It is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. If you or someone else may be in danger, call emergency services immediately. US parents can also call or text the Postpartum Support International helpline: 1-800-944-4773, or 988 for crisis support.
